A+

5 bi-weekly journals, 8 course activity sheets signed by your classmate on the class and presentation evaluation report have gave you 23 marks in sort of freely way. The things you need to focus on are just final exam and project report. I did not have any economic background before and have a little impression on the course in 4 days before the examination. After learning about 20 hours, I got a good grade, near the highest grade. For the project, applying what you learn from this course is so important. But once you do like that and have no obvious area to be improved in the project. You will get high level. Doctor Ho is a very friendly and humorous person who you will always like. I learnt many essential economic concept in interesting ways but save much time and energy. I am so grateful for the level I got.

其實依個course無想像中咁易a range (因為睇之前d留言話好易靚grade)
我係year 1,諗住啱啱喺中學上到嚟,中學又讀過econ (有level 4, 但係原本predict level 5)諗住趁仲記得d concept就reg咗依科。
依科講易唔易,話難唔難。syllabus係要你由week 2開始上堂做in-class exercise。做就做咗差唔多10份,但係計分淨係計當中嘅6份。做完之後喺3日內upload上canvas就得。基本上唔難,因為可以上網搵到答案。
Assignment方面有bi-weekly journal。只係寫下你喺日常生活中做咗咩可以幫助改善環境同埋簡單解釋下同econ有咩關係。total 做4次,每份大約2分,喺sem完之前一次過交上canvas。
有group project,係講下d社會環保議題同economic explanation。topic絕對唔難諗,只係考你點解釋。遇到好groupmates好重要。
考試嘅話有mc同long question。mc 大約40條,long question得一條,佔20分,有分abc parts。自問有econ 底嘅話都唔可以輕視。long question真心唔知點俾分,因為我已經寫晒佢上堂講要寫嘅野,consult佢嗰時佢都話我答晒要答嘅野。不過我結果都係得大約一半嘅分數。exam我個分係高過mean不過都係得b,唔知係唔係俾group project拉低個分。
不過ho to ming真係好nice,上堂有講有笑咁,氣氛好輕鬆。同埋lecture notes有好多相,係日常生活嘅例子。
如果大家諗唔到reg咩ge嘅話都可以嘗試reg依科。就算中學無讀econ都唔會好難,好多都係易明嘅microeconomics 野。唔明嘅話ho to ming會好樂意答你 :)

This course has six in-class exercise, one bi-weekly journal, one group project (progress report + final report + presentation) and one test (including MC and 3 essay questions)

Although the workload is light, it is not a GE course that surely A range. There was no difference between students who studied at microeconomics or not before study this course. The 2-hour test was quite difficult to me, especially the essay questions, I only got 9 marks out of 20(not sure the total marks of short essay questions). My group mates and I are from college of business, which studied at economics in high school and CB2400 in semester a. However, all of us got B for this GE, not as well as our expectation of it.

IMO, Green Econ is not a good choice if you would like to get an A range GE course, but it is a course with light workload and the lecturer is quite humorous (Dr. Ho always talk about he loves eggpuff haha).

輕鬆 attendance唔重要 如果你讀過micro 其實可以走晒咁多堂 佢好中意吹水 上堂又唔洗話專心先識 coursework分係Reflective journal10%(真係好鬆手 是但寫應該都有分 佢講到明有做一件環保嘢就比晒2分 5個短文就10分滿分) in class ex 8%呢個真係正 佢上堂派張紙 有題目叫我地寫完影相upload係canvas 但其實你可以落堂錢係佢枱拎 然後雖然難但佢話如果個個都唔識會當大部分人都啱然後比分 gp proj 32% 呢個不得了 可以8個人寫(一組最多8個人) 遇到好gp mates好重要 如果唔係一定做餐死兼爛grade 淨係計份report 所以大家要醒醒定定認真做好report啊 quiz 輕鬆 有溫書睇lecture notes實識 上lecture會嚇死見到勁多版 但要背嘅佔好少 勸諭大家唔好咁衝動即刻印曬出嚟 你肯定會後悔 In hotoming,we trust

上堂輕鬆,assignment唔難。B-衰交漏功課,自己問題。如果交齊應該有B,去到B+都有可能。Exam齋溫lecture note,唔係hea溫,但結果好一般,想A range要自己睇書。個人而言哩科算唔上好靚grade,但未去到好差。想要A嘅絕對要認真對待。

適合有econ底嘅同學讀,assignment輕鬆,除左econ嘅部分之外都係common sense,quiz冇野要背,不過econ唔係幾好嘅同學就可能要多啲時間溫下啲concept。另外Group project比分算幾鬆手,大家合作啲分好工就輕鬆攞分,我成個project前後用左個幾鐘就搞掂。值得一提嘅係個professor好nice,所以成個course氣氛好輕鬆。

1 Group Project (Progress Report+Presentation+Final Paper) 1 Bi-weekly journal. Both are easy as long as your teammates are not free riders. He would accept mostly all ideas you put in the journal. The most important one is the final test. But also easy if you have studied Economics in secondary school.

冇預期個Quiz高mean成個SD有多都要B+
BBA學生建議讀晒micro先好入嚟讀,因為佢節奏快過micro
如果冇讀過econ真係唔建議reg,因為好易俾人爆seed
上堂hea,可以唔駛聽,佢講自己野多過教書

I have economic background but still find this course not easy to handle.
I did quite bad in lesson assignments (they are quite hard, dont know if it's because I didn't pick up the DSE syllabus for years)
The course has new things other than DSE materials

I did revise hard for the 2 exams, especially the final exam (i almost lost half of the mark because of the long questions). Need to review hard, very very very hard and I mean it.

Our project is good, he praises our group, i suggest you consult him until he nods and agree with your idea, otherwise the project can kill your grade.

For your reference:
Exam 1(solely MCQ) 41/50 (already the highest one) mean is 31.1
Exam 2: unknown, 50% for 25 MCQ, 50% for one long question (which is complicated, or you don't know how to do then say goodbye to A range)

To conclude, I dont think this is a easy course to get A+ as others have said. To do so, a bit luck is definitely needed.

先说workload
32%group work(要做presentation但不计分 final report记27%,comment记5%)
10%BI-WEEKLY JOURNAL (其实就是五份200字小作文)
8%attendance(任选四周找一个小伙伴互签即可)
50% final

课很好,老师很好,很有趣。
但是切记:一定要看书!!!不要只温ppt!!!(注意了我这个是低分低分低分,这个课讲真给分很好,当然你final要考得好)前面那些分数是大家都能得到的,所以最后grade多少关键就是看final了。

同时本节课还带给了我一个未解之谜:同组final成绩和我相同的groupmate比我高了一个grade,无言以对。

最后,尽管我拿了B,我还是很喜欢猴头明啊hhhh

期末考试占50%,都是MC question
group project 20%-30%
其他分数大概大家都可以拿到

没有学过微经也可以拿好分数的,但是要认真复习课件。
要是CB学生有学2400应该会轻松A+
老师非常有趣也很和善,会讲有意思的例子,课上得好生动。

就算之前有讀大學程度嘅Micro Econ 都覺得唔容易,因為一來要溫多次,二來佢大部分課題之前嘅Micro Econ都係無詳細教 (e.g: externality, pollution charge, pollution permit, environment subsidy deposit refund system) 呢D課題都係base on externality 進一步延伸嘅。上唔上堂分別唔大,都係要自學,但係又唔可以唔上,要搵同學互簽計分。

test 佔50分係grading 嘅關鍵,個test考得唔好基本上成科已完。功課曉飛都無用。其他功課都唔係難做,present都唔計分,係report真係要花時間寫。

有econ底唔一定有優勢,但無就一定輸在起跑線
