2015/16 Sem B

首先講下個course教乜:
1) dse micro econ既topics 50%
2)大學 micro econ既topics 30%
3)真係同green econ有關既model 20%
htm既講解係非常詳細,同埋htm既班係唔教計數 所以啲concept都好易明,
基本上所有野都係圍繞住demand supply, 只要你上足堂留心聽,就算無讀過econ都一定識.
我自己dse 有讀econ, 今個sem仲要讀緊cb既micro econ,所以真係好易上手, green econ果part都係簡單野 亦都幾有趣
對普通同學黎講應該大學micro econ果part最難上手

之後講下個course要做乜:
1)final quiz: mc+2 short q:
mc基本上只係上dse level野, 極小green econ, 唔出大學level既micro野. 有讀dse會好高分 冇讀都一定識
我自己mc係過mean好多

short q都係dse野, 但比分既方法應該同dse唔同既
答既時候可以諗多小小, eg, 同一題,我有同學係就咁用demand supply同subsidy解釋 我就加埋externality同corrective subsidy.最後我係高分啲既
呢part我過mean多小小
quiz係冇出文字上既環保既 所以唔洗背data definition果啲 不過係有出green econ既model既

2)project+term paper
project好簡單, 最緊要apply到economic既concept同搵多啲有趣有用既solution.
unfortunately,我搵組員中左大伏, 一係蠢一係懶 基本上成個pj既ideas都係我出,比哂指引佢地寫份paper, 都係好垃圾, 不過因為份paper短所以我自己改得哂
如果組員正常, workload應該係好低
仲要present唔計分

3)bi weekly journal
好簡單, hea做就得 有交就full mark

4)attentance

咩人岩讀:
1)求a/a+
要拎呢個grade一定要讀過dse econ,你mc會岩好多
同埋你會覺得真係好輕鬆 大部分野都學過 新野又好易明

2)求過3
冇讀過econ都好易有b, 要上堂囉, 不過workload都係輕既
因為dse有讀econ既人會拉高個mean,
所以如果你quiz只係過mean小小都唔會有a range 得b+

最後小tips:
1)econ係要明先識既科, 冇得背冇得自學, 一定要上堂, 最好有唔明要即刻問,
2)唔好以為econ major就會係好project mate, 入得econ多數成積差, 同左個year4 econ major既做pj mate,人又懶又做唔到野又蠢 最唔掂就係佢

In my opinion, students with no basic economics background are not recommended to take the course if you aim at getting a good grade.

The course mainly focuses on the business part, and materials esp things we learnt is the latter weeks require you to digest it and understand the methods of calculating and drawing diagrams.

Dr. Ho is a really nice teacher and he tries to motivate the class to engage in the lessons through games and discussions.

There are 2 quizzes 1 group presentation. The first quiz is an mc quiz and the second one includes both mc and long questions. For the presentation, it is very important to show your creativity in the product design.

Good course and hard work pays off.

workload極低既伏科。

先講workload情況:

成個sem得1樣野做,做個白痴group project
寫下邊度有環境問題,點解決,要經濟解決方法同非經濟解決方法
正常黎講,30分鐘內做完
workload真係好低。

再講佢伏既地方:

呢科上堂無用因為個prof好HEA咁教
溫書亦唔係好有用因為佢題目出out syl(out syl部份係大學程度既微觀經濟課程)
最後出左B,感恩。
利申,DSE ECON考左兩獲,兩獲都5星
利利申,大學讀Engine,結果out syl部份比商科人屈左機

Mr.Ho was an interesting tutor, who was gd at his teaching. Yet, the syllabus was way too difficult as a GE course. I personally scored a 5 in my DSE Econ. I do understand it is a university course; yet, the difficulty was beyond my imagination. I spent a very hard time to catch up with the syllabus and revising for the final close-book examination.

For those who are not BBA students MUST be cautious about this course. The workload is quite heavy, especially concerning the semi-weekly in-class worksheets, which were very difficult. I always couldnt finish them, not to mention finishing them accurately,

The group project topic requires you to come up with a new product, which requires high degree of creativity. I also had a tough time to try to come up with ideas that he gonna like.

The end of semester exam was very very difficult, involving some really technical Maths questions, which I totally didnt hv a clue abt it. So, really be vigilant, guys.

It was really luck for me to get an A-. I heard many ppl scored B or below.

成個course對讀過econ 嘅人黎講唔難,不過想拎a range 真係要俾D心機同小心D, 由其係份quiz, 佔成50%. 個grade 係depends on 你個quiz 做得幾好同溫得有幾熟.
group project 唔需要太認真去做因為你quiz做得差份project 都唔會救到你D咩.
上堂氣氛輕鬆,不過有D悶同埋節奏都好慢下...都幾多non-local 嘅人讀,呢個course係個好機會認識多D人.

冇讀過econ既 真係要思前想後讀唔讀呢科
我中學冇讀過econ,所以要花好多時間去睇返d notes先大約明返上堂教左咩
個quiz佔成個course 50%,做個時勁多唔識,勁驚會fail
最後有B都幾surprise
可能係個course其餘50%唔算難拎
每週寫篇journal
一個group project都唔算太難做,不過要有好project mates係好重要
同埋Dr Ho好好人,會同我地玩games又送禮物

成日都對住學生笑
好緊張學生聽得明唔明
但當你以為真係好易好高grade既時侯
你就真的中伏了
不過workload真係唔重既

To begin with, this course is BY NO MEANS some random course that everyone can take, as said by Mr. Ho

This GE course is not to be taken by students without economic background. I myself studied economics during my secondary studies. I was still out of my league in catching up the syllabus of this course, as it involves quite a substantial amount of university-level economic theories, especially the Maths there...

In addition, this course has no restriction in taking BBA students, especially those studying economic as their major. The unfairness was self-evident in the results of the quizzes and in-class assignments.

Back to the course itself, the theories were quite difficult. The in-lass assignments were mostly very difficult and demanding. I always found it hard to finish all those questions correctly within the given time constraints. The two quizzes were extremely difficult. The online journal were piece of cake, but could be boring you after a few weeks time.

As to the final project, 4-5 persons form one group. The final project was about creating a product to raise awareness of env-problems, it really required lots of creativity. So, it was not quite suitable for nerds like me.

In all, I got a A- completely out of luck, as I felt myself like failing every classwork and quizzes. So, yeah, I think it's luck determining ur grade, especially in this course, which is a difficult one.

BTW one of my gpmate got B-, and it is rumored that one BBA student got B, so yeah, u decide it

冇ECON底唔會識 因為我淨係中學讀過叫做有ECON底去到後面都唔明佢UP乜
2個QUIZ 第一個幾易 但第二個好難唔識
Inclass assignment唔係堂堂有 但我冇番個幾堂都有lol
project正正常常
有呢個grade好surprise :O

1. 無讀過基礎Econ不好選這科(非常快)
2. 教學內容主要是econ為主,env.佔2成左右
3. MC QUIZ 50%,不溫不行
4. Project圍繞環境問題,可以做得很精彩,最重要是有economic solution(concept岩便行,不要怕錯)。P.S.資料搜集要做好, 不然會有人好狠地challenge內容
5. 努力會有回報的科

Engine 仔冇讀Econ, 俾個professor fake咗話呢個course 係俾冇讀過Econ嘅人讀。一開始都還可以,去到quiz 就知唔掂,仲要俾身邊d人屈機。冇Econ 底真係唔好讀

工作量算輕鬆
1.bi-weekly journal x5, 每份200字內, 講自己做左咩environmental friendly野
2.group project (progress report+final report+presentation)分返開每人其實做好少野, progress report唔交會無左5分, present最好同同學有interaction
3.mid-term test, 全mc, 讀le課的人大部分都有個底,, 50分滿分, 我果班mean 有42.79
4.上堂要簽紙, 自己簽完仲要搵人做證人幫你簽, 不過只會計8次

Dr. Ho真係好nice!

非常棒的课 强烈推荐商学院的同学读!导师讲课认真负责,很乐意解答问题。内容算是对Micro-Economics的补充,很实用也很有趣。Workload不大 两个quiz占50%有决定性也有些难度,但对bba的学生来说也不算太难。一个group project30%做一个环保的product,也还算轻松。

有兩個quiz 一份report,都係講d econ, 環境野,有econ底會好少少,quiz都係廿條mc,d人多數錯3,4題我錯多幾題,quiz如果有溫note其實都ok,我只係前一日先溫,每堂有d in class exercise都係hea做,同埋每堂要上網答幾條題目都係hea打段野比佢,可能report做得麻麻,因為都佔得多分,report可以主要講環境既議題,唔一定要講好多econ都得,所以好似geog或當通識咁做,同埋佢有比sample,跟著做都ok
