2016/17 Sem A

主要就是Quiz一定要溫習, 特別是quiz 1
Project方面如果組員都肯做的話,工作量不會特別大
上課有一點悶,不過這似乎個人情況而定
總結,這算是個有努力就會有收穫的ge科目

2016/17 Sem A

sem中同sem尾分別有一個quiz, sem中嗰個考60條mc, sem尾考15條mc同一條essay, essay好重要而且少少難,係類似代入角色然後解決對象嘅心理問題,而且要用大量theory解釋。
第一個quiz 低過個mean 少少。第二個quiz 唔知。
同埋要做booklet 同poster。唔算太難做,重點係要有好隊友。
上堂方面, Joseph 主力上半部分,而另一個主力下半部嘅三堂,應該以sem中個quiz 為分界,Joseph 嘅英文易明D,同埋有時同學生交流,同埋Joseph幾好人,有時有D野唔明,你email左佢之後佢會好詳細咁答你。
而Haimin PAN講野好悶,跟足ppt講,但係好關心學生,而且佢有份睇present, 佢都可以比D comment 你。
總括,一科唔錯嘅ge。

2015/16 Summer

To study this course in summer is very chur. I do not regard this as an easy and relaxing course, especially in summer the length of course has shortened by half and it's like you're cramming those knowledge. And I seriously doubted that Dennis Ip this tutor never gave A+, regardless of how high u scored and how well u performed. This is ABSOLUTELY TRUE (and i wish u gd luck if u think u could overturn this in future).

Friendly reminder: work hard in Quiz 1 is really really important, make sure u at least memorize before talking abt flexible application.

2015/16 Summer

個課程本身幾實用,個呀sir都教得唔錯。總共分為三part:認識自己、人際關係、適應環境,兩個test(一個60題MC,另一個15題MC+1題LQ)同一個presentation(揀一個職業裏邊點用到Psycho),本身嚟講工作量唔算太大。不幸嘅係我撞正個變態地完美主義嘅groupmate,話一定要攞A,係咁chur人做野,但係做完畀佢睇又話做得太差要我改,改完再畀佢睇都唔滿意,最後自己做番曬,因為咁我仲通左兩晚宵,真係畀佢玩到謝曬皮,好采總算攞到A,都叫做有個交代!!!

跟其他留言的人看法不同,我覺得prof的講課很悶,只是照ppt講,英文發音也很需要改善⋯⋯
這個課程本身還是不錯的,喜歡心理學的話都可以先來試一下。只是始終很多知識在課上也只會帶過,比較濃縮。
Work load確實不大,兩個quiz,有上課加上複習ppt不會很差。不過mc問題比較刁鑽,會問堂上講過或實驗結果出現的數字等。第二份quiz有essay question,要看清楚題目要求答完整⋯⋯
Booklet&Poster,認真做,落力做,應該不難。指引不太清楚,可以利用堂上討論問個清楚。
自己B+,其實也預計得到,因為上課我一直睡orzzzzzzzz

先講講個course:
呢個Course適合勤力但唔想有Final exam嘅人。
如果你有努力做好Project,理解完再背晒Lecture notes,至少都會有B+。
以前無讀過psycho嘅話都唔洗驚。雖然我果班有好多人院學生,但我都照拎A。

Quiz1:有60條MC,mean 45/60,SD 5.55,最好背晒notes內實驗嘅數據。
Quiz2:有15條MC,1條open-ended LQ。基本條LQ用黎分高下,做得好就A range無難度。(因為好多人寫essay都麻麻地,而且你要理解notes理解得好透徹。)
Project:要apply課程中psycho理論落一個職業再分析,最後整一本booklet。整大約16頁至17頁(半版A4為一頁)就夠,加多一張poster。

再講講reg邊個prof:
Joseph係一個好用心同盡責嘅prof,你有野唔明或者唔知project點做嘅話,佢都會好仔細咁解釋。而且每堂佢都會留30min左右俾學生傾project,佢會即刻俾advice你。平時上堂嘅例子都好充足,一定教到你明。

Final grade係基於四班表現再調整,但都唔洗太擔心,呢科有努力就有回報。

Dennis is an emotional tutor. If you don't like, please unregister it.
He is sometimes nice and helpful but I don't like his special teaching style.

This is the only GE course I got B range. Sad...

Not a bad course. Interesting enough for someone who is new to psychology (I haven't had any prior knowledge for this course other than general knowledge).

The teacher can be emotionally volatile at times, but generally is a pretty decent person. Just don't piss him off.

In terms of workload - it's alright, not too bad. The 2 quizzes - you can pretty much get all the info you need from his powerpoint slides. Just memorise and regurgitate. For coursework/booklet + presentation - not too bad. However, although our group got bad presentation marks (no explanation for the grade at all), we did end up getting a decent grade (presumably). So do put effort into your booklet!

2 Quizzes (MC, MC+ Open Q) , 1 Booklet, 1 Presentation and 1 Poster.
For quizzes: Must revise and be very familiar with the PPT slides to do well (cuz pull-curve)
Booklet, presentation and poster: Don't really know what he wants..(presentation grade was not good) But I guess it was quite fun doing it. The workload for this part is quite heavy so better not have free-riders like my group)
However, Dennis is helpful, quite nice and really cares about free-riders (Although he is quite emotional at times) A lot of students just do their own thing in class....no attendance..but attendance is taken during presentation weeks.
Quite an interesting course in general

佢完全唔跟sem b 時的教學,佢着重真正的應用。第一個quiz 已經考哂成個課程的內容。
每次考完,佢都會即時講解,所以知道幾多分。
Quiz 1: MC 45/60
Quiz 2: Mc 10/15
Long question: choose a profession and analyze it using psy theories.
由於佢成日講 stimulus process response
所以都係用呢個framework 去apply psy thories.
Project: 同quiz 2 LQ 差唔多,不過係成組人咁做。

開始時覺得好伏, 完全要自己睇書, 佢講得好深入, 您會有可能無方向唔知點温好。Quiz 1我都係靠 之前的notes 先考到 45 /60 。 mean:40
我諗可能係我quiz 2 條LQ同project 做得好.
完完全全係我意料之外。
佢的教學有別於一般要人死背就拎A 的科,真真正正要靈活運用,咁樣無咁易俾人屈機。 佢鐘意學生同佢討論,如果您岩,佢唔介意轉 quiz 答案/ 幾個選擇都得。
上堂無筆記,要自己抄。

勁多野做吾係問題,係個 tutor Eason 勁主觀。見到身邊有好多人攞 B range 但其實做得比我地仲好,所以吾建議大家揀!

記得今個sem reg既時侯得Joseph果班未full,不過見GE指南入面跟Joseph既都拎A range,所以冇drop到呢個GE

呢個course頭果6堂係佢教,第7堂 quiz 1,第8-10堂係mainland tutor教,第11堂 quiz 2,第12-13堂present (mainland tutor聽,不過佢多數都唔點聽,都係睇你最尾final products,pre完就走得)

成個course只要有正正常常,肯做野既groupmate就ok,冇乜野做,每個星期lecture都係教下書,joseph教得ok慢,令你好容易明白d concepts,上堂基本上都冇乜野抄,成日睇片,你明哂d notes就ok(唔洗記),每堂最後果1粒鐘比你同groupmates傾下個project,寫一張紙簽個名證明你有番,寫低每個禮拜個project有咩進展,同佢或者mainland tutor交代下project既進展就ok (吹下就得,唔洗真係show比佢睇你做左未)

第3堂就form groups,之後好多時間準備個project.所以每個星期做dd就ok

Coursework:

Quiz 1 (covers week 1 to week 6, 60 MCs, 40% of the course grade) Mean=40.88; SD=6.66

Quiz 2 [cover week 8 to week 10, 15 MCs (10%) + 1 essay question (20%)]

Project (presentation + 2 A1-sized posters + 2 small booklets

*關於個coursepack ($219),雖然Joseph會講到好重要,一定要買黎溫quiz咁,不過實際lecture notes冇而coursepack有既題目得1-2條,所以冇咩需要買,我睇左2次都唔識答lecture notes冇果條(考左個好detailed既位)

個Project係介紹下你揀既professional job,再用番堂上學過既theories用番落去你揀既Job到,poster就總括呢個job,冇文字得圖都ok,個project做得一般都冇問題,因為大家其實都差唔多分,最重要係quiz 1+ quiz 2

呢個course最緊要係quiz 2條essay question,因為好多人都唔識得寫essay,預先準備定答essay既points再用番落個quiz到,因為quiz 2正係cover week 8 to week 10,所以好易tip:

1. Circadian rhythms (Daily Rhythms of Alertness) or
2. Memory (repetitive rehearsal, chunking, working memory, elaborative rehearsal, semantic network) or
3. Learning (habituation + Classical conditioning + Operant conditioning)

總結黎講: 上堂唔悶,幾有趣,workload唔大,幾好既GE

Dennis Ip會響第一堂講晒佢的要求
上堂: 唔好走堂,好多野會NOTE係無,主要係靠自己上堂聽。Dennis Ip雖然比較燥, 講簡都算清楚,而且我本身對心理學都少少興趣,我覺得上堂係幾得意,至少唔悶。

2個QUIZ:
QUIZ 1(40%) 的範圍係MODULE 1&2的形式係MC,好似係60題,QUIZ 1 係一定要溫書,因為考的野比較仔細,定義固然要熟,但NOTE提到的實驗要認真睇下,試過問數據。
QUIZ 2(30%) 的範圍係MODULE 3, 形式好似係MC+ESSAY(一頁),ESSAY個題目識就識,唔識就大件事,所以都係要溫書。

BOOKLET & POSTERS (30%): 阿SIR強調 BOOKLET係用字吸引人,POSTER係用圖吸引人, 要將 THEORY整合。呢D就係惟一的OUTLINE,其他靠自己啦。 注意POSTERS的SIZE有要求,小心唔好錯,佢好似捉得好緊。

PS, attendance 好重要,要自己簽名,尤其係ADD& DROP PERIOD完左果堂,因為要分組,佢好似傾向任由缺席的同學們自己一組。
同時,佢好似好討厭FREE-RIDERS,最後果堂,佢會逐組逐組問有冇FREE-RIDERS。

雖然好多人話Dennis Ip係KILLERS,我覺得佢比GRADE冇人講得咁緊。

簡短咁講,workload好輕,而且靚grade

2個quizzes(40+30%) + 1個grp project (30%)
quiz方面唔會話好難,睇lecture notes已經識哂,coursepack d野頂盡1,2題mc
肯溫一定ok,利申本人未讀過psycho相關既野.

project其實都系最緊要分到好人,5個人一組
so sad系分到有2個組員都free free地,來來去去都系2,3個人做野
有poster同leaflet整,個人覺得重點系個題材最好interesting d,盡量豐富d

joseph同wenjie其實都好helpful,雖然講真上堂會幾悶,但你有心學psycho野會好d
記得wenjie講過佢好似系台灣人,所以d英文都幾難聽,有時唔睇notes都唔知佢講咩
但佢真系幾好人,好熱心consult我地project,畀左我地心靈些許慰藉

總結系有心上psycho真系好值得報,feel到遲d會好搶手lol

個course其實唔伏,最伏係個tutor啫
Dennis D脾氣真係好難捉摸,有時好好人,有時好似M到咁,郁少少就激親佢咁
同埋佢上堂用咪講野真係好大聲,驚死人地係聾
問關於project嘅野十問九唔認
所以有呢個成績基本上都係靠自己同groupmates們一齊努力
1. 2個quiz: 有溫書其實唔難,不過都唔好走堂走得咁勁啦,有D位你miss左真係唔知做乜勁lol D問題都幾straight forward, 間中先會trick下人
2. 1 group project (poster + booklet): 最緊要遇到好groupmates, 識整靚靚booklet會事半功倍!
overall個course幾易讀,最大嘅變數反而係你遇到咩人
