EAP 1
工作:
只有一份argumentative essay(1000字),題目會比埋你,十分容易handle。除左Week 13交final draft,大約Week 9會叫你交draft, Week 10比feedback你。

感受:
Miss Au係典型中學老師,上堂好似返左中學咁。有問題唔識可以隨便問,佢會好樂意答你。上堂會教下grammar and 點寫term paper,又會成日早放。不過,全部EAP course都會take attendance,唔夠80%即fail,所以唔好走堂!

2015/16 Sem B

Ms Au會教grammar,學到嘢,上堂輕鬆,會早放,比分稍為手緊

正如其他同學所講,James真喺好俾心機教,教得好好,會自己整practice/exercise俾你做,writing同paraphrasing佢都會好認真咁改,仲會俾啲skills你等你篇文寫好啲,會講清楚term paper個要求,會同你討論條題目,你離題冇得怪人。

兩位都唔會好嚴謹咁捉遲到,但喺我唔建議你遲,因為兩位都教得幾好,讀bst嘅話我建議你reg James,唔會爛grade又學到嘢

exam唔會太難,大把人早走

2015/16 Sem A

This tutor was sick for several weeks and our consultations were pushed to last minute. From previous posts, it seems that he is always absent for sickness. Could this be allowed? Also, we are forced to do 12 hours of independent learning by attending writing workshops and conversation club to get stamp on passport. The whole idea sounds childish as I got similar things in primary school to get new file or pen. Now in Sem B, I have to do the same thing: 12 hours of their repeated workshops and conversation club. Can't see the point of it.

2014/15 Sem B

只係跟佢俾既格式寫文寫4次就係(本書有講),基本上完成個course只會學識點樣寫academic writing呢一類既作文。。。唔會教其他類型既作文。。。
Reading方面,就俾2-3篇文你睇,答佢啲short questions加寫一篇不可多於70字既summary
整體黎講工作量唔算太重,只要你好清楚個course啲要求的話,就係咁重複寫佢要求既文4次
Irene份人就好盡責,佢每堂會印啲練習操熟你需要學既知識,真係會好明佢要啲咩

2014/15 Sem A

My teacher is sick for more than 4 weeks and cancelled 8+ lessons. My classmates and I are worried whether we will fail this course because of him. EAP2 repeats 80% of EAP 1. Why wasting our time if we can take GE1 and some more interesting courses. A waste of time! Unprofessional.

2013/14 Sem B

YEAR 1 SEM B係JAMES教,佢係一個好用心教既老師,而佢教完之後會令我成個大學生活寫PAPER都好大得著。

首先,佢打破傳統沉悶既課堂,係佢堂坐法唔係傳統既課室坐法,而係將D櫈圍成半圓,令全班同學上堂時都好融洽,因為咁既坐法令同學與同學之間係面對面,增強大家之間既互動性。

其次,佢上堂係實事求是,13堂圍繞APA STYLE,教點寫COMPLEX SENTENCE,NOUN PHRASE,但唔會好似傳統老師咁用一兩堂輕輕帶過,每堂用唔同形式加深我地記憶,例如出來鬥快寫、以APA STYLE同同學口語溝通。有時課堂玩遊戲,分組,可能會令大家唔想參與,但上JAMES堂你完全唔會有抗拒意欲,仲好想參與其中。

其實每堂唔同既課堂形式都係想我地加深記憶,而家我每次寫PAPER都可以好清楚記得APA既用字,點樣唔重複字詞,點樣用NOUN PHRASE表達,呢D野我好坦白講無論我中學老師又好,出面補習天王都好,佢地唔係無教,而係唔識教,教完都可能唔識用。但上完JAMES堂假使你英文一般,相信你都會由成篇文SIMPLE SENTENCES變成COMPLEX或者NOUN PHRASE。確實係得益良多。

如果無JAMES咁有針對性既教導,咁有HEART咁教(佢曾經講過佢每次上堂前備四個鐘課),相信我仲寫緊小學雞文。

我SEM A係由外籍女人LAURA教,佢同JAMES差好遠,人品唔差,NICE,但上堂HEA到爆,做一篇短既READING可能只需用半個鐘時間,佢比足個幾鐘你都夠膽死,自己係枱底玩手機,到BREAK既時候,人地可能BREAK 5-10MINS,佢就BREAK足半個鐘。上佢堂可以話無得著,上HEA咩都唔想聽既同學,想訓覺想封閉自己,得過且過,揀LAURA實是不二之選!

雖然到最後我EXAM得C+,原因係因為我HEA做READING,個心飄左去SEM BREAK。

最後,大家如果不幸上LAURA堂,諗都唔洗諗即刻轉JAMES啦。而上學好英文,學好學APA,NOUN PHRASE,COMPLEX SENTENCES,JAMES確實係大家既FIRST CHOICE。

2013/14 Sem B

下學期重複上學期東西,只加多summary writing 和少少citation techniques. 冇mud新嘢學,但又要捱一星期六個鐘class time. 最無聊是9-12小時的額外independent learning,被逼幫嚫Writing workshop 或其他services 拿印仔.無聊得很.每星期共花我七小時...我還有很多堂要上和功課要做呢!

人人都話ELC爛grade. 本人就死都唔信

Sem A表現其實都ok

Sem B係James教, 好好人都教得好用心, 只要肯聽書其實就OK

好多人爛grade, 但其實先問下自己平時有冇聽書
定係讀都未讀就話一定爛grade架啦 算吧啦

好盡責既miss,上堂學到好多野,
可能大半班都係asso,所有上堂好認責,
每堂都有Exercise,功課
如果真心想學下英文,唔想hea過每個Week呢6粒鐘,
可以reg Hebe

C-

-James既堂好好玩,最後個堂係party,好開心。佢會係assignment度寫你錯左咩同埋應該改做咩。比grade較嚴謹。
-Tim既堂好深刻既係幾乎堂堂都要分組,有唔同既活動要做,上堂訓覺超過某個次數會當你無番一堂(不過係佢堂訓覺需要好高超既技巧)。佢改assignment只會mark低你既錯處,要係consultation個陣問佢可以點改。比grade鬆手,但亦都容易係某個位直接唔比分,所以要小心d。
-好彩唔計GPA, 如果唔係實爛Grade
