個course既內容係講日本既gender, kawaii culture, japanese image.. etc.
內容不難, 同時要睇多d佢比既reading

有兩次in class exercise: 考你上一堂學過既野, 所以不能走堂.
一個group project (presentation): 自已諗題目
一份term paper

整體唔難,但個tutor係d 問問題既環節e.g. q&a session during presentation 就好有要求, 唔可以hea比佢

個course幾hea tutor幾好 唔理你遲到 不過最後比你諗題目做presentation個陣有D奄尖

個course有 一個好簡單既quiz 超hea 一篇essay 一個powerpoint presentation

想好grade要答多D題目 佢每一組present 後都有個Q&A session 一開頭冇答題目 可以而個時候問present緊既個組問題 都當你有答過題目

個course workload幾light 扲而個grade幾喜出望外 不過篇essay要做得好D 同埋最好至少答/問3-4次問題

4 writing journals + 2 mini quizzes + 1 poster presentation + 1 final essay and writing journal summary

light workload.

the writing journals can be short since the tutor emphasizes on quality over quantity.
the quizzes are fill in the blanks, not quite difficult.
the poster is a collage. it is fun and easy to handle.
the final essay is about the review or reflection about the gender issue on a movie/drama/opera/documentary.

上lecture成日好多point 唔明,可能我冇日本文化嘅底啦
Lecturer 其實好nice的,係我get唔到佢D idea姐...
tutorial 都好輕鬆,睇戲+間coursepack
workload 好少好輕鬆
finally 個grade可以接受,畢竟我好多野都唔識(BTW上堂好多勁人,日文同文化都好掂><)

This course was quite relaxing at all. Instructor is an European and she had stayed and studied in Japan for a long time. Her knowledge about Japan is very wide and depth. I felt that all of the classmates enjoyed her lessons. Dennitza is nice and she always encouraged us to share our opinion as there are no exactly right or wrong answers.

I think this course is not difficult as Dennitza prepared a lot and gave very detail explanations on each topic. She explained many Japanese key terms in English, so the lessons were easy to follow. We had to read some materials and watch movies in tutorial lessons. The only thing we had to do was reading before lessons.

Coursework was fun and enjoyable. Paper collage was not hard to made and the final eassy was short. Lastly, this is a good course.

ELC的學生讀得很辛苦,導師的用字對我來說有點深,有很多生字要認識然後在ESSAY上運用,不然很難去告訴導師你有留心聽書,認真對待這科。
每個TOPIC都好像很容易,但導師希望的是從中思考,然後得到一些反思或想法,老實說我不知道她真正要我思考甚麼,ESSAY我只能夠對開出一個簡單的相關議題然後找資料SUPPORT。
個人認為此科不易好GRADE,我自問都不是HEA讀,但有努力過去研究,希望可以有多一點想法。但真是力不從心。到最後連B+都沒有。

Atmosphere in the course is very relaxed but not casual!

I think the most difficult part is reading the course pack. There were lots of professional terms about sexology and psychology.

Presentation (self-made poster) needed japan related things combined with your own explanation in the innovative and reasonable ways.(no time limit) I think Dr. Dennitza loved all the presentations...

Final paper cannot exceed two A4 pages. (including preferences lists!)

開頭比佢個名呃左 以為hea hea 地讀下日本d 文化如茶道呀飲食呀
點知要探討埋d勁深既日本gender 問題
又咩salary man 同武士既關係之類
睇完1次video/movie 就要寫reflective journal
佢仲要限字數5句內 點寫呀
D QUIZ 又難到嘔 FILL IN THE BLANKS 唔知填乜 真係OPEN BOOK 都唔識
TERM PAPER 任你作題目 同 PRESENT 做 PAPER COLLAGE 我都覺得係算易做

Very interesting and easy course; the main focus is GENDER ISSUE in Japan.
Overall 89.95% - A-

NO NEED to know Japanese.

2 open book fill-in-the-blank quizzes; if you did not pay attention, it will be hard to find the answers, BUT only very small amount of attention already enough, because she will stress the important things VERY CLEARLY.
The quizzes only have 10 questions, fill-in-the-blank, open book; but count very less mark, not much problem even if FAIL.
I completely FAILED BOTH, first time 4 / 10, second time 5 / 10.

Have some short reflective need to write, only have 4 grades:
E - Excellent
G+ - Very Good
G - Good
? - See tutor

The reflectives are LIMITED in words, so it is impossible to be difficult; no need to write a PhD essay, just some thoughts.
If you bullshit completely, you will get "?". Try to be at least on-topic, almost anything can get "G"
This ONLY counts towards PARTICIPATION, so if you handed in everything, you must get ABOVE 80%.

The project very important,
you need to make a poster out of magazine cut-outs, to form a A3 poster,
then the group need to present a Japanese idea related to it, for about 5 minutes,
EASY to pass if you want to hea, EASY to score high marks if you want to A+.
Some groups cut out AV-girls and talked about pornography, completely fine.

Final Essay, LIMITED to ONE paper, double-sided, including references (no need to start new page)
ANY Japanese topic will do, very free and easy.
I just wrote about a Japanese band who plays cross-dressing and talked about some Gender Issue.

Tutor is very nice person, not too picky about late of absent.
MUST sit-in for PROJECT PRESENTATION of all groups; not a harsh request, considering you can skip all the other classes.

Good luck, if you received B or below, you really wasted this subject.

不過有限字數,字數不能過多
多的定義係三句,第一次見唔可以多過三句的review。
工作量真係少到喊,要好grade就要寫嘢有pt
整poster就最好問吓miss意見先做,睇吓佢開邊飯先開始做會好D
poster剪貼多於用腦,good!

要reli Excellent 先會有A range. 如果唔係,一般都只係B range. 有Reflection(理科人唔識寫感想,即刻死晒),同埋fill in the blanks 既quiz(迫你上堂,好淺。但如果無上堂聽過重點,就會唔知佢想你填咩,因為佢d fill-in 怪怪地。)最後有個poster present, 雖然唔知佢點樣定義"good", 但係美唔美觀一定唔係重點。

課程內度年年唔同,但都離不開日本古今文化。唔深入,當見識下都唔錯。
