Funny course, Andy is very nice. Heavy workload but good grade. Suitable for hardworking students. 努力嘅同學可以有好靚grade. 一定要答多啲問題加分,一定要上齊堂 唔上堂會扣2分 5分就一個grade喇!

Weekly work:
- 10 mins Quiz every lesson, allowed to take one page notes. [15%]
- Weekly post on canvas --> share article [5%]
- Each lesson, 3 students with the highest "likes" of weekly articles on canvas, can share, add bonus 0.5 marks. [bonus]
- Weekly Projects update, each student has to write one A4 page of paragraph about your project. [5%]
- Brainstorm and present the brainstorm idea of your group. (The best group can add 1 bonus mark) [10%]

大約咁上下

1. 每堂 present佢要求你即堂discuss做,唔鍾意你一早準備定,但係佢對你個slide又有要求喎,真心信佢即堂做就中伏
2. 份野幾難,佢完全唔會幫你理解,要求都幾高,所以幾麻煩
3. Overall無野係估佢唔到有題要記人名,心諗
4. 對slides既quality講究係無問題既,不過佢異常執著你啲細微位咩footnote呀format呀,有啲心理準備囉。都不突止,project既guidelines係極度唔清楚,canvas既解說可以唔同頁面用唔同字眼,再加埋佢口講既要求又幾款,基本上你會一頭煙係咁問佢問題。問問題呢方面下邊再講。
5. 無咩野
結論就係感覺就好似,佢攞住一啲佢唔熟書既guidelines,再用自己既心水演繹一次,好難捉摸。

講完內容,就講下呢條友既態度。
佢極度唔鍾意人地問問題,人地canvas問佢 佢唔like,就叫人email問。好啦人地email問啦,佢又話咁多覆唔晒。OK,咁佢就要你上堂問,呀估你唔到上堂問都有啲技巧,佢又要你全班在場問,落左堂走左大半班問,佢會質你點解咁遲問。講野態度又差,好似得罪佢咁款。喂summer黎架,有幾多堂呀幾多機會呀,有咩學生緊係就捉緊機會問架啦,攞你命咩而家?都莫講問題正正來自佢啲模稜兩可既guidelines,本末倒置,怪返聽書既轉頭。如果要我推薦評分,十分係滿分既話,我會比碌蕉佢。

第二個tutor就唔知,呢個sem得佢一個

If you want to gain good grade, you should not choose this course.
If you think your English is not very good, you should not take this course. The professor pay many attention to your grammar.

In‐Class Participation : 20%
Reading : 30% (Include a very harsh quiz)

In class participation:

Tutor 會對樣 tick attendance 想攞A range(仲要去到盡得A-)就絕對唔好走堂,另外class participation係要去canvas填evaluation form,因為每堂會有4組出去present(要爭做presentation),我地要俾分present既組(記得要填唒張evaluation form 如果唔係會扣分)。同埋!!present前得15分鐘俾你傾同整ppt & 絕對唔好喺discussion嗰陣傾閒計(要傾用英文傾) ,professor會擇名。

上堂嗰陣要打醒十二分精神,因為上堂講過既野係你上堂唔留心先聽唔明,千祈唔好問professor,佢答唔到你。

Reading:

要睇篇長文(內容講新既technology),跟住寫一份report。首先要解釋份reading 講咩,跟住講個technology點樣套用到你既日常生活入面,跟住!!要諗一個product係套用到篇長文提及既technology而呢個product係要係市面上冇既、要完全新既、要真係有機會實行出嚟。

如果你真係諗到個product,恭喜你,你可以申請專利&賺大錢。

Quiz:

MC加Fill in the blank(會喺canvas度做),要記人名 & 要識串字,佢問既唔係篇文關於technology既concept而係你做mc既skill 同有冇手殘打錯字。

Group Project:

要做presentation, ppt 同report

Presentation 要做好心理上同資料上既準備,你會完全估唔到professor會問乜。(呢個都冇乜野)

Ppt 要跟特別format做,多圖=扣分,多字又驚佢冇心機睇,仲要係每張slide下面加footnote,你所揾既資料雖則有六個人present既分量但要濃縮到少過18張slide。
(心聲: 其實做ppt意義何在,不如做去word度算)

係professor俾既report comment方面,收到既comment如下:
missing reference source(明明頁頁都有加footnote)
should be justified with supporting sources;not just example/title(supporting source=?)

各位要記得根據以上comment做好份report,希望幫到大家。

Don't register HER courses!!!!!! Otherwise, you will regret for the whole semester!
Our group get an A- for the overall project, but most of the team mates turn out B range.
In class presentation weekly, very heavy workload, always criticise you.
You will be very depressed after attending her course.
FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DONT REGISTER THIS COURSE! BELIEVE ME!

吾會一切過俾勁多野你做
雖然隔個星期要交份吾計分既report
但最後交final係group埋一齊改少少就交得
所以肯跟呀sir timeline做野就okay
上堂吾悶 好輕鬆 topics多又好傾
搵d好groupmates 加埋好老師 輕鬆攞高分
Haha...就要小心peer評分個pt...可能有人會突登整低你個分 所以俾心機做好2份reports 題目好flexible 呀sir見你吾差又有心做 個grade都吾會低^^

唔熟Computer Science嘅人都啱讀
每堂都係睇片同埋討論,今年圍繞既主題都係smart city,所以討論既題目都係smart government, smart environment, etc.
俾分主要分attendance (group discussion & presentation), reading reports * 2, group project 3部分

1. attendance:會喺group discussion嗰時點埋名,但出席係唔夠,因為有部分評分來自group discussion之後嘅presentation,個presentation會有peer evaluation(但其實好hea,大家都係俾差唔多分)

2. reading reports:每個report 15%,一半分係sir俾,另一半分係peer evaluation(阿sir俾分好好,但peer就未必喇,因為佢random分4份reports俾你,有人想自己高分而特登俾低分人都唔出奇)同埋交完reports之後佢會俾機會你出去present你份report,自願性質,都係peer evaluation,分數當bonus,最高5%。另外頭十名最早交又會多2%,所以拎爆分係唔出奇。

3. group project:得一份,佔50%,佢會set唔同既deadlines俾你,例如今個禮拜交project brief,過幾個禮拜交第二樣咁,不過淨係得final report計分,其餘嗰啲唔計分,但要準時交,如果唔會就扣分。咁樣幾好,唔會將啲野逼埋哂最後一個禮拜先做,所以工作量唔算太多。同埋如果有參加佢提及嘅比賽而又入圍,份project就已經50%,雖然final report都係要照交。

總括黎講,有俾少少心機、勤力啲,把握每個有bonus嘅機會,咁就好容易拎好grade!

2015/16 Sem B

因為本身教開嘅prof 有事所以轉咗做Dr. Andy 教.
呢個course 整體黎講workload 得一份pj(50%), 兩份reports(30%)
其他就係20%class participation同10%bonus
呢個course 你唔可以走堂,因為class participation太低會成個course fail
有上莊成日唔得閒上堂就唔好揀.
上堂分做2 parts, 第一part 係睇片,第二part 係group discussion 同present, 每堂都會有. 基本上上堂就係等take attendance,20 % full mark 唔難攞
Project 方面今個sem我地係要幫香港設計一個smart city application, Dr. Andy 全程lead 住我地做所以唔洗怕冇頭緒. 佢好好人會俾曬source, reference 你慢慢俾你研究.
成個sem 都係輕鬆好玩, 分亦好容攞,如果想work load 少又好grade 呢科唔錯

2014/15 Sem B

其實workload唔算太大, 只要半freeride就ok

小妹以hea既態度應付依科

Group Project 拎B (50% of total); Assignment 兩份 B+ (30% of total); Class Presentation 做得好差 (Grade unknown) (20% of total)

唔知點解都出到B+ hahaha

2014/15 Sem B

A-

The instructor has dedicated herself into this course and rendered plenty of support to students throughout the course. She is nice and willing to answer student’s questions.

The workload of the course is not that heavy, and there were two reports and one group project. Students are advised to prepare the project as early as possible. Those who started their project late performed very badly. The instructor criticised student performance of this semester: Many of them started their project at the last minutes. “No Pain, No Gain”, the instructor has emphasised that this is not a free-riding GE Course, you need to make effort before you can get a good grade.

Attendance of the course counts the grade. Be more active in the class and answer more questions, this adds bonus marks.

Mind the grammatical mistake in the report. Instructor cares about those mistakes.

Bring notebook before you attend the lesson, you need to complete peer evaluation in each lesson. Students are required to study a topic before the lesson and may present them in front of students.

我覺得呢科其實算係輕鬆呀

上堂會take attendance (對住個樣黎take,唔好諗住搵人幫你take,講真走一兩堂唔會死既)

可以打機,最好就唔好俾個helper見到,雖然睇到都未必有事。Helper Joseph(傑) 份人幾友善,會提點下我地同幫我地手

得閒俾反應個老師,helena好好人,不過佢唔鍾意人遲到同埋出出入入。

上堂係有group presentation, 好短,唔難既,個形式都好casual. 大家放心,只要跟佢問既問題答就得
你覺得易答既話,就自動話代表自己組啦,因為你點都會有一次,走唔甩既. 做一個自己有信心既會好啲。

(其實我有個提議,present同topic果幾組應該合作。咁樣上堂會更輕鬆)

Reading report 揀返自己比較有興趣既topic會比較易做 (topic佢會俾你喺咁多week入面揀) 800字以上,砌下砌下就掂,summary記得要精簡

想高分記得睇清楚佢要求啲咩

grp project冇特別,我諗正正常常都會有B以上啦
交之前check下你啲grammar啦,兩個tutor英文唔算好好,如果咁都俾佢見到份野有錯grammar,印象分必定大打折扣

PS. 提提大家,上堂有部手提電腦會方便好多。因為in-class participation係要登入blackboard做peer assessment. 仲有,你地唔需要咁賤格俾低分人,因為你地果個評分唔影響present果組既分 haha

上堂幾輕鬆 不過每堂都要預備presentation因為會抽幾組出黎present
