A-

Grades from Hannah are fair. The more effort you put, the higher marks you can gain. Comments from her on written assignments are quite useful that you can clearly know your weaknesses in English. You may send her drafts of assignments earlier and she will give you some brief suggestion for improvement. Tips and useful materials would also be provided in advance to help you work with your essays.

For the class, Hannah makes it quite relaxing and free. Just like weekly chats with her and your classmates. She always encourages us to speak more and give her more verbal response no matter how many mistakes you make. Choose her if you want to immerse yourself in an English learning environment and make yourself be more confident of using English.

佢係一個二十幾歲的香港女老師。本來意為年輕老師會有熱忱, 上堂冇咁悶。點知佢除咗冇經驗, 教學心態同手法都好有問題, 一定唔好選呢個老師。
我哋第二日正式上堂(第一堂玩破冰活動), 冇人知道要print 網上的文章, 佢就大駡我哋話用電腦同手機睇討論唔到, 要我哋print曬。結果我同好多人都print曬所有文章,結果佢用咗幾堂就冇用。浪費我哋printing quota同地球資源, 仲要唔明點解要比佢吠咗成十分鐘, 真心想問佢有冇plan過點教書。
我哋交文之前佢都歡迎我哋send email or facebook 揾佢, 呢點都算係盡責。但佢上堂真係太盡責, 有一堂係只係返去同老師討論下個draft的, 其他班的人都會由老師分配時間返去, 人哋返三分鐘, 我哋就返成堂三個鐘, 在後面呆等。個老師為咗唔好令我哋冇野做, 就比份野我哋做, 份野不但冇用, 佢仲要唔收來改, 做咗等於冇做。
最無奈係最後一堂present, 佢要我哋早半個鐘返去, 9點堂變8點半堂,咁都算了。人哋班班都可以準時, 我哋配合曬佢要求, 用USB開info graphic, 唔使上網入password, 但最後都仲要唔係準時落堂,佢時間控制能力完全係零。
總括而言, 佢教學內容普普通通, 但教學能力很有進步空間, 現階段都係唔好選呢個老師做白老鼠為妙。
唔評論我成績, 但以上所言都句句屬實。

though i think his class is quite funny than my pre-regged Ue.
i had handed in all the homework on time and attended every classes.
Even though my english is not good, i do not think i should get a c- at last.
Allan is able to speak fluent english as he is a native speaker.
However, i do not think he is a good teacher in teaching english, because when he was talking about writing argumentative essay and descriptive essay, he just showed us examples without explaining the requirements or the ways to write. Therefore, most of us did not have any ideas in these writing.
if u want a funny and interesting class, then choose Allan. But if u really want to learn, he definitely is not your choice.

Allan 真係好好人好nice !!
自己英文okay la, dse 5, 做assignment 都係最後一刻先趕起,最後份essay 因為係死亡week 13, chur 到傻 grammar 內容等差到貼地,攞A 真係好意外。

一開頭expect C range, 所以睇到呢個grade有意外。

對於我呢D極hea既人黎講,算多野做,但係我全部都係deadline前chur出黎既,所以幾乎份份 (出左分既assignment) 都below mean,應該係最後total計40%個份argumentative essay加infographic加oral present得好,所以重重一拉。

Allan真心好人,我成日send email去煩佢 (鬼叫佢有時講野唔清楚),都好好人好快咁覆email。

最後,計attendance既,走左兩堂,冇補醫生certificate。

Jessica is a good teacher, she is nice.
the first two assignments were marked quite strict, only got around 70%.
but then after consultation and asking for comment, she did give useful tips and helped me improve a lot.
all in all, the class was relaxing.
Try to gain marks in participation, it really helps much. if i could be much more active in class, i believe I should have got A.

首先,不得不说,这门课对于英语水平的提高是有帮助的。虽然老师不会按照freshman English网站上的课件去授课,但是那上面的文章都是阅读的好材料;听力和口语方面,课堂上老师总会用各种有趣的方式为学生提供交流的机会,但时间略短;写作方面自然不必多说,这门课写作占了65%。然而,就写作而言,在我看来,老师并没能提供足够详细、有用的指导。授课内容过于抽象,很不具体,使得学生的写作能力未能有很大的提高。因此,若学生本身具有较高的写作能力,这门课就能拿很高的分。
此外,这门课很有价值的一点在于教会你如何使用图书馆的database去搜索文献,这个技巧在学习过程中可谓不可或缺,因为你总会不可避免地需要写文章,写评论,搜索资料等等。
最后一点,我这个section的老师要求学生十分严格,因此给分不好。

例如first, second, in conclusion 等等。 簡簡單單 佢follow 到您的logic, 就應該無咩問題。

其實有無上堂係無分別。因為上堂甚少講份功課要點做。基本上唔上堂都知大概點做。12:00-14:50上堂,中途有20分鐘break食飯嘆咖啡(佢一break就買咖啡),每堂提早半小時落堂。畀分雖然好似唔係太緊,但唔會高。據悉佢唔敢畀太多人高分,因為之前曾經畀Department 暴力調整D分,所以大部分人都係大約七成開始,好些少就高少少,盡量縮窄個class range。換言之除非你表現好突出,否則唔會高分,平平無奇。唔好幻想搏高分、A-/A/A+。

Personal Statement 變 Why I chose X as my major,Elevator pitch 只需要自己對住個鏡頭錄影summarize篇Why I chose X as my major就可以。由4分開始畀,有交就有起碼4分。Info graphic同presentation 一齊做,即係present幅info graphic,個內容同Argumentative Essay一樣,summarize篇文現場講大約3分鐘。個present「佢話」唔會太低分。因為呢個唔係speaking course。

If you think you've paid so much effort in it but still get a low grade. It means your English is pretty bad. I almost finish every of my assignment just 5-6 hours before class, and I still get an A-. Please pay more attention in class dude. 3-hour classes are basics for Uni students.

唯一諗到好既地方,就係無in class writing, 返齊D堂,就拎哂d平時分....
所以都係個句...zach個人好懶+Hea,但比Assignment分就好鬼緊=.=
想輕鬆爛Grade,可以試下reg佢

自問有俾心機做assignment, overall 都有75%, 點知都係得呢個grade
yr1記住drop左佢, 仲有 english for xxx 都唔好讀住, 唔係就等爛grade啦

首先,講講個老師先。呢個老師係澳洲佬,本身讀人力資源管理。佢每一堂一開始會玩D勁無聊既warm-up game,就係同partner互相用英文溝通佢比既TOPIC,我只覺得佢個人好悶,上堂氣氛唔係咁好。每一堂都係等時間過。

上堂既時候,佢每一堂都係用官方網站比既Materials,講真,做得大學生,自己都識睇,佢應該搵新既教材,如果唔係,上堂無咩意思。睇下片,做幾張工作紙,咁就一堂,都係好無聊咁過。

睇完個GRADE之後其實好失望,原本諗住有B-或者C+,點知最後得C。不過佢比較好既地方,就係每次電郵比篇DRAFT佢,佢都會比COMMENT,會覆電郵!

好唔好,見人見智!揀唔揀佢,你自己決定啦!

好多writing做:(
雖然知自己英文好唔過其他人,但冇諗到個grade咁差-_-
最後果篇argumentative essay, 我去左ELC度改左成3-4次,
總計改左6次, 得番黎既評語只係"你篇野得average,想高d就努力d啦"
到底係佢手緊定我英文真係咁差, 連ELC d人都話佢已經覺得我篇文好好,唔洗再改-.-
好傷心,努力都冇用:(
完全係令人爛grade既一科,
建議year 1學生遲d先讀除非你英文好好.

She is a killer!
啲文改成世都未改完, 最後到出grade
嗰日先出到, 真係無野講
上堂都ok, 悶都預左, 但最搞笑嘅係可以同一條片睇兩次, 仲要問我地有咩meaning 會唔會太明知故問:o)
普遍身邊嘅人都差唔多grade, 你都睇得出佢有幾頽
本身都會準時放, 慢慢變到早, 成個鐘都夠膽死lol
總之一句講哂, 唔好俾佢呃到, 伏又未到最伏, 但都足夠令你死grade

基本上除左第一堂個個writing,成個course上堂都唔使寫writing
上堂係幾輕鬆,聽佢講下野,睇下片,討論下(我諗一堂會有一至一個半鐘傾)
佢會周圍行下聽下你地分享,個氣氛就好輕鬆
之前都有take attendance,罷課開始之後就無再take
所以當時都因為佔領而無再上堂,係除左consult同present個陣有番

本來以為可能有B,因為佢通常D comment 都幾正面下

改文好鬼慢, 我等左1個半月先收到descriptive essay個分

本來以為冇乜野 點知係killer黎
我英文一般啦 但D文好低分

上堂係有D悶 所以有時真係唔小心訓左一陣
但我堂堂番齊冇遲到
點解得C+禁低
